Welcome! At my practice, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where clients can feel heard, valued, and understood. I believe that every person is unique and deserving of respect, and that therapy should be a collaborative process between the therapist and the client.
As a therapist, I practice in a client-centered approach and draw upon evidence-based interventions such as ACT and DBT to help you address your specific needs. During therapy, I act as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgment and acknowledging your experience without imposing treatment goals or leading you toward a hidden agenda. I am there to encourage and support you without interrupting or interfering with your process of self-discovery, as you uncover what hurts and what is needed to repair it.
I'm a Licensed Psychologist in Colorado and work with clients from 39 other states as a member of PsyPact. I have over 10 years of experience with the following:
I specialize in health psychology (helping clients struggling with health concerns, including sexual health, postpartum care, chronic diseases, pain, and eating disorders) and aging.
I love working with senior clients, and all adults (17+) experiencing stressors associated with life transitions including early adulthood, identity and relationship concerns (including unique challenges of the LGBTQ+ population), parenthood, midlife crises, failure to launch, empty nesting, and end of life matters.
Last but not least, I'm fluent in Russian, and honored to support fellow immigrant and refugee clients, assisting them with cultural adaptation and related trauma.
When it comes to my personal background, I was born and raised in USSR. I moved around a lot and lived in four countries before settling in the United States. I earned my Master's and Doctorate in Chicago and moved to Boulder, Colorado for my postgraduate training. As an immigrant I'm intimately familiar with the stress of adjustment to major life transitions and with the sense of loneliness and inadequacy that can accompany these transitions.
I'm an avid adventurer and embrace all things Colorado. Pursuing a challenging path for the reward of a new insight or the experience itself represents both mountaineering and therapy to me. I deeply empathize and personally understand the challenges of physical and mental limitations impacting one's ability to move forward. I honor the privilege of supporting my clients through their unique journeys and helping them to overcome the obstacles that come up on the windy roads of their lives.
For the last 15+ years I've been working as a psychologist, consultant, and a leader influencing healthcare by guiding diverse teams, providing expert consultation, and collaborating with internal and external partners. I have a strong research and analytical background, and outstanding organization, planning, and coordination skills. I'm an agile decision-maker. By seeing what each person naturally does best and empowering them to do it, I make individuals, teams, and groups better. I'm committed to JEDI values. Bilingual in English and Russian.
Work philosophy: stay curious and open minded; remain passionate about people and make sure others are heard; make positive change happen.
